How to access LPTMS

LPTMS is situated on the Orsay campus of the Université Paris-Sud, approximately 25 km south-west of Paris. The campus is accessible from Paris via the RER B and the laboratory can be reached in approximately 50 minutes from the Châtelet-Les Halles station in the center of Paris.

  • Paris : Take the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse ou Orsay-Ville station.
  • Roissy (Charles de Gaulle) airport : Take the RER B in the direction Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse ou Orsay-Ville.
  • Orly airport : Take the Orlyval train to the Antony station (terminus), then the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse ou Orsay-Ville.
  • Massy TGV train station : Take the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse  or take the bus 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10
  • Paris by car : Take the Autoroute A6/A10 from the Porte d’Orléans or the Route Nationale N118 from the Sèvres bridge.

Once you get off the train, either at Le Guichet, Orsay Ville or Massy Palaiseau please see the different options how to get to the LPTMS building:

  • Bus 9 from Le Guichet (more information and schedules here)
    You need to take the bus at Le Guichet and get off at Université Paris Saclay bus stop and then have a walk. Attached you will find the map. It takes around 17 minutes to get to the building from Le Guichet.
  • Bus 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10 from Massy Palaiseau (more information and schedules here)
    You need to take the bus at Massy Palaiseau and get off at Université Paris Saclay bus stop and the have a walk, map attached. It takes around 28 minutes to get this way to the new building from Massy Palaiseau.
  • Bus 7 from Orsay Ville l'Yvette (more information and schedules here)
    You need to take the bus 7 from Orsay Ville l’Yvette – the one on the way to the swimming pool and get off at De Broglie, then the building is right next to the building of L.I.M.S.I. It takes around 8 minutes to get to the building this way from Orsay Ville.
  • Walk from Le Guichet – it takes between 15 and 20 minutes. After getting off at Le Guichet go in the direction of the shops and cross the street. Continue to the right and turn left to take Rue de la Colline, then turn right to take Chemin du Bois des Rames and continue straight to Rue Belvedere. Map attached. Warning ! The path involves climbing as it is steep.
