Subject: [info.statphys] Tenure track faculty position in Theoretical /
Computational Soft Matter and/or Biological Physics

Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Physics at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the areas of Theoretical / Computational Soft Matter and/or Biological Physics. Appointment at the
Assistant Professor level is anticipated but exceptional senior candidates will also be considered. We especially encourage applications from candidates who complement, extend, or charter new directions to
the department’s existing strengths in complex biological systems and processes, non-equilibrium statistical physics, biomembrane physics, and polymer physics. Our Center for Soft Matter and Biological
Physics provides broad opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within Virginia Tech’s College of Science and College of Engineering, as well as its Macromolecules Innovation, Biocomplexity, and
Critical Technology and Applied Science Institutes.

Please see the attached position ad for more details, and kindly distribute widely among qualified candidates. Questions regarding the position may be directed to me, via email smb_search@phys.vt.edu, or
phone: ++1-540-231-8998.

With best wishes, Uwe C. Täuber
