How to reach LPTMS
LPTMS is situated on the Orsay campus of the Université Paris-Saclay, approximately 25 km south-west from Paris. The campus is accessible by car or by train - RER B. It takes approximately 50 minutes to reach the laboratory from the Châtelet-Les Halles station in the center of Paris.
By car
Itineraries from Paris:
- From Porte d’Orléans or Porte d’Italie, take A6/A10 highway in the direction of Bordeaux, then take the exit “Cité scientifique (N444)”. Continue in the direction of Saclay, then in the direction of Orsay/Centre Universitaire.
- From Pont de Sèvres, take the route N118 in the direction of Chartres/Orléans, then take the exit 9 and continue in the direction of “Faculté des Sciences”.
By public transport (RER B)
- Roissy (Charles de Gaulle) airport : Take the RER B in the direction Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or Orsay-Ville.
- Orly airport : Take the Orlyval train to the Antony station (terminus), then the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or Orsay-Ville.
- Paris Gare de Lyon: Take RER A in the direction of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Cergy or Poissy, change train for RER B at Châtelet-Les Halles in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse ou Orsay-Ville
Once you get off the train, either at Le Guichet, Orsay Ville or Massy Palaiseau please see the different options how to get to the LPTMS building:

You need to take the bus 7 from Orsay Ville l’Yvette bus stop – the one on the way to the swimming pool and get off at De Broglie, the LPTMS building is right next to the building of L.I.M.S.I. It takes around 8 minutes to get to the site this way from Orsay Ville. (See plan 1 to check the walking path from the bus stop to the building) - Walk from Le Guichet – it takes between 15 and 20 minutes. After getting off at Le Guichet go in the direction of the shops and cross the street. Continue to the right and then turn left to take Rue de la Colline, later turn right to take Chemin du Bois des Rames and continue straight to Rue Belvedere. Please see below plan 2. Warning ! The path involves climbing as it is steep.

Once you get off at Le Guichet follow signs leading you to bus 9. With bus 9 go to Université Paris Saclay stop, gett off and walk to the building. It takes around 17 minutes to get to LPTMS from Le Guichet. (For walking path please check plan 3) - Bus 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10 from Massy Palaiseau (more information and schedules here)
You can take one of the buses mentioned above at Massy Palaiseau bus stop. In order to get to the building you need to get off at Université Paris Saclay bus stop and then have a walk, map below - plan 3. It takes around 28 minutes to get this way to the building from Massy Palaiseau.
